Lutra is a non-profit studio for Printmaking based in Leeds, run by artist and technician Ellen Burroughs.
I established the studio in 2020 to support artists develop research and produce editions in a range of traditional methods of print.
The studio supports a range of traditional processes, including: etching, screen printing, relief/planographic printing, photogravure, plate lithography and experimental drawing.
Artists can begin a project with any amount of experience, I provide resources to support research, experimentation and to develop editions of fine art prints, basic publications or unique works.
Lutra prioritises early career artists, providing an affordable (sliding scale/PAYF), accessible service for those who normally work outside of printmaking interested in exploring these processes collaboratively.
In addition to working with artists I deliver a range of learning and public engagement projects with local and nationwide partners, promoting the joys of printmaking to all.
In 2024 Lutra began the Beak Editions project with new works available for sale in 2025.
